The city of a 100 spires is one of Europe's most beautiful, with architectural styles ranging from the Gothic through to Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Communist Modernism. Today the historical centre is more vibrant than ever as visitors from around the world pour into the city to visit its historical sights. However, Prague is much more than a collection of monuments, once out of the centre Czech life is centered around good food and beer. In recent years the city has taken on a more cosmopolitan flavour and with its introduction into Europe Prague became the gateway to the East.
